Do you ship Australia-wide?

We currently ship Australia-wide using Express Post. Every postal hire includes Express delivery and a prepaid Express return satchel for a seamless rental experience.

At this stage, we do not offer international shipping.

How long will my garment take to arrive?

Express Post delivery generally takes 1–3 business days, depending on your location. Next-business-day delivery may be available within Australia Post’s Express Post network; however, this service is not guaranteed for all areas.

If your postcode falls outside the next-business-day delivery network, please allow additional time for your garment to arrive. We recommend selecting an 8-day hire period for rural, regional, or remote locations to allow for a more seamless delivery and return experience.

How much does shipping cost?

We offer Australia-wide Express Post for a flat rate of $30, which includes a prepaid Express return satchel for your convenience. For heavier garments or multi-piece sets, Express Post is $40, also including a prepaid return satchel.

How long can I hire a garment for?

We offer 4-day and 8-day hire periods. Your rental begins on the day your garment is scheduled to arrive. Please note for customers in rural or regional locations, we recommend choosing an 8-day hire to allow extra time for postage and ensure a stress-free experience.

If you require your garment for a longer period, such as a holiday or special event, please contact us directly—we'll do our best to accommodate an extended hire, subject to availability.

Can I book a try-on?

House of Hire is an online-only designer rental boutique, so we unfortunately do not offer in-person try-ons or a showroom, at this stage.

To help you find your perfect fit, each product page includes detailed sizing information, fit notes and model details. If you're still unsure, we'd love to help—simply get in touch for personalised sizing advice before placing your booking.

What sizes do you stock?

Our curated collection is currently available in AU sizes 6–12. As House of Hire continues to grow, we're committed to expanding our size range to offer a more inclusive designer wardrobe, while maintaining the premium quality and carefully curated selection we're known for.

What if my garment doesn't fit?

At House of Hire, we provide detailed sizing information on every product page to help you choose the best fit. As we operate exclusively online, we unfortunately do not offer in-person try-ons or a showroom.

If your garment doesn't fit, subject to availability, we can arrange an exchange for another style or size (local hires only). Alternatively, we can issue a store credit for the hire value, less a $30 cancellation fee, in accordance with our rental policy.

If you're unsure about sizing before placing your order, please don't hesitate to contact us!

How can I cancel or change my booking?

If you need to cancel or make changes to your order, please contact us as soon as possible. We understand that plans can change and will always do our best to assist where possible.

You can best reach us on Instagram, or via email: house.of.hire.goldcoast@gmail.com

What happens if my parcel doesn't arrive on time?

We understand that timing is essential when preparing for a special occasion. For this reason, we carefully assess every booking and dispatch garments as early as possible to allow for a seamless delivery experience. If we do not believe your order can arrive in time, we will not proceed with the booking.

Once your parcel has been lodged with Australia Post, delivery timeframes are outside our control. House of Hire cannot accept responsibility for unforeseen courier delays, and refunds are not available in these circumstances.

However, should your garment arrive after your event, you may return it to us unworn and receive a 110% store credit toward a future booking with us.

Do I need to clean my garment?

No — cleaning is on us! Every garment is professionally cleaned and carefully inspected after each hire, so all you need to do is enjoy wearing it and return it on time.

In accordance with our Terms & Conditions, additional charges may apply in cases of excessive staining, damage requiring specialist cleaning or repairs, or if a garment is deemed beyond repair and requires replacement.

How do I remove creases?

Most garments will arrive ready to wear. However, minor creasing may occur during transit.

We recommend gently steaming your garment before wearing it. If you don't have a steamer, hanging the garment in a steamy bathroom can also help release light creases. Please do not iron garments. You may gently use a steamer if the care label specifically states it is safe to do so, as some delicate fabrics may be damaged by direct heat.

If you're unsure of the best way to care for your garment, please contact us before attempting to remove any creases.

What if I damage my garment?

Accidents can happen, so please let us know as soon as possible if your garment is damaged. We assess each situation individually and will always work with you to determine the best outcome.

Depending on the extent of the damage, charges may apply for professional cleaning, repairs, or, in cases where a garment is beyond repair, replacement of the item, in accordance with our Terms & Conditions. Please do not attempt to repair or clean the garment yourself, as this may cause further damage.

The sooner you contact us, the more likely we can minimise any repair costs and ensure the garment is restored for future hires.

How do I return my garment?

Every order includes a Return Card with step-by-step instructions, and you'll also receive a Return Reminder Email the day before your return date outlining exactly what to do.

If you selected postal delivery, simply place your garment in the provided Express Post return satchel and lodge it at any Australia Post Post Office or street posting box by 5:00pm on your return date.

If you collected your order locally, please return your garment to the designated collection address by 5:00pm on your return date, following the instructions provided in your confirmation email.

What if my return date falls on a Sunday or public holiday?

If your return date falls on a Sunday or public holiday, simply lodge your garment in an Australia Post Express Post box by 5:00pm on your scheduled return date.

If Express Post boxes are unavailable in your area, please lodge your return at your nearest Australia Post Post Office on the next business day. We kindly ask that you notify us if this applies so we can keep you updated on your return.

What happens if my garment is returned late?

We kindly ask that all garments are returned by 5:00pm on your scheduled return date. As a designer hire business, we rely on timely returns to prepare and dispatch garments for the next customer.

If your garment is returned late, a late fee will be charged in accordance with our Terms & Conditions. If you anticipate any delays, please contact us right away!

What if I lose my return satchel?

If you misplace your prepaid Express Post return satchel, please notify us as soon as possible. You will need to purchase a replacement Australia Post Express Post satchel at your own expense to ensure your garment is returned using the correct postage method.

Please contact us once you've arranged the replacement so we can assist with the return process if needed.
